Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us.
At Mentia Health (“we” “our” or “us”), we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable state laws in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy policy.
By using our services or interacting with us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
We offer three services, “Deva World”, “MentiaCompanion” and “CarePlay”. “Deva World” and “MentiaCompanion” are used directly by a person living with dementia (“Player”), with oversight by formal and informal care givers (“User”, “you”), including a person who is legally responsible for the player (“Designated Person”). Each Player has a group of Users attached to them (“Care Circle”), such as a family member or an approved person from a care organization. A User may also be an administrator, who manages the care circle, subscriptions and join-ups (“Admin”). The Admin is responsible for creating and filling out a Player’s profile, and can invite other Users to do this on their behalf. “CarePlay”, a training product, is purely for Users.
- What Information and data we collect
Personal Information:
- We collect Users’ name, email and phone number to authenticate them so that they can join and access our services.
- We also collect information and data about the Player: name, date of birth, biographical (‘Life Story’) information volunteered by them, their Care Circle or their Designated Person. Life Story may include digital artifacts such as audio and video recordings, written words, and the names and images of people, places and objects known to them. Life Story contributions are not mandatory. They may be edited or deleted.
- In the case of “MentiaCompanion”, we collect audio and video and conversation exchanges between the Player and an AI-driven personna and we extract elements so that we can improve the Player experience.
- Usage Log information
- IP address, device identifier, data stamp of usage, objects tapped in the virtual world
We do not collect health-related information, but we may use health-related information collected by third parties

Users access our services through apps on tablets or smartphones (“Apps”) and through an online management site for each app (“Dashboard”).
Data are stored on location-based servers in three locations: Australia (serving clients in Oceania), France (serving European clients), and Canada (serving North and South American clients). Each server securely siloes data from that region, with no overlap.
Our website (https://www.mentia.me) (“Website”) collects information voluntarily provided by interested persons via our opt-in forms.
